Charlotte Allen about
World Health Organisation
Identity, 2020 Cancer, cardiovascular, respiratory and diabetes are the four main types of non-communicable diseases. The World Health Organisation produces several reports a year, specific to each disease. I was asked to create an identity for this topic to be applied to these reports. I created a motif using outlines of the face, positioned to resemble hope
and strength. The number of faces represents the four common diseases.
Each disease is assigned its colour in two tones. The tones are used throughout the inside of the report and as a subtle gradient on the
front covers. Conscious of the denseness of these reports and their scientific depth,
I wanted to achieve an identity that made the non-communicable,
more digestible.
