Willem Van Doorn 1

A cabinet made from the local Dutch tree plantan, for a good friend of artist Willem Van Doorn. Whilst interning for Willem Van Doorn in his large wood workshop 10 miles outside of Amsterdam, I had the opportunity to assist him in designing, building and constructing a cabinet for a good friend. From choosing the tree to the joinery used in the cabinet,  Willem and I travelled to a wood farm to source this particular tree.  We wanted to sustainably source the tree and use one that wasn't rare in the Netherlands.
